Cottage Grey Decking with Black Railings & Stair Corrections
How much was this deck replacement in Navesink, NJ? $18,779.74

This deck replacement in Navesink, NJ started with the complete removal of the existing deck boards, stairs, skirting, and railings so the wood substructure could be fully exposed. Once the deck was opened up, there were a few important issues to address. Both staircases had improper spacing and inconsistent step heights, so they were set to be modified with additional wood stringer supports to bring the stairs into proper alignment. The homeowner had also noticed that the deck was not level, and with the surrounding trees being removed for access, the support system beneath the deck could be properly assessed after demolition. From there, the goal was to determine what adjustments were needed to help lift and level the structure as much as possible. The new finish pairs Cottage Grey decking with white fascia, stringers, risers, and privacy skirting, while black railings and square black spindles give the deck a stronger contrast. It’s the kind of project where an experienced residential deck contractor has to look beyond the surface and pay close attention to the structure underneath.
