Enhancing Outdoor Living Spaces

We recently renovated this deck in Old Bridge, NJ. Our client chose Fiberon® Good Life Decking from the Weekender Collection. This project included both grooved and square edge deck boards, in a warm Cabin color for the decking and its perimeter. The fascia, risers, stringers, skirting, and railings were all finished in white, creating a beautiful contrast with the decking color. Square spindles were chosen for the railings, which matched the deck’s contemporary style. This deck replacement involved a complete removal of the old deck boards, railings, and stairs to allow a proper installation of the new decking system.

A significant structural improvement was the jacking up of the main beam near the house, with shims installed for more support. This addressed the issue of the beam settling due to the sinking of the concrete patio slab below.

New stairs were constructed with three stringers for better support. The deck and steps were given a picture-framed finish around the outside perimeter, enhancing the overall look. New railing support posts were installed inside the deck framing for safety. A unique feature of this project is the new privacy square-style lattice skirting under the deck, which includes a removable access panel for the homeowner, conveniently located near the house.
