Let there be light!
We completed a roof replacement In Old Bridge, NJ using Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration® Shingles in Peppercorn. Our first step was removing all existing materials to get down to the plywood sheathing for a solid start. The home has a gable-vented attic, so no ridge vent was needed, staying in line with NJ building code. We installed new flashing where the rear valley meets the siding to help prevent leaks at that transition point. White edge metal was added for a clean finish around the roofline. The existing attic fan was left in place, but we advised the homeowner to keep it turned off to help improve energy efficiency when using air conditioning. Two VELUX™ skylights were added to bring in more light and ventilation. We also installed a new Broan bathroom exhaust vent as part of the upgrade. This roof replacement gave the home better protection and improved airflow in key áreas.
