Colonial Slate Shingles & Enhanced Chimney Protection

Our team recently completed a roof replacement in Tinton Falls, NJ using Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration shingles in Colonial Slate. To start, we removed all existing roofing materials, allowing us to inspect and prepare the wood decking for a fresh installation. Since the home uses gable vents, no ridge vent was required, meeting the NJ Building Code for ventilation. For this project, we added white edge metal, creating a clean line that complements the shingle color. To address potential water issues, we created a custom chimney cricket wedge on the roof’s upper side to divert rainwater around the chimney’s rear. Black chimney flashing was installed, blending with the existing chimney design for a seamless look. This approach ensures enhanced leak protection around a crucial area. Each step focused on strengthening the roof’s durability and weather resistance. This roof replacement not only elevates the home’s style but also brings increased security against New Jersey’s changing weather.
