Strength Meets Style: A Cabin Brown Deck Built to Last
This deck replacement project in Leonardo, NJ brought both safety and style back to this beautiful outdoor space. The homeowners wanted a strong, low-maintenance deck that looked modern and matched their home’s exterior. The process started with removing all the old deck boards and railings to expose the wood substructure underneath. Once cleared, we added temporary shoring to support the existing main beam and frame during construction. The failing 4″x4″ wood posts were replaced with new 6″x6″ engineered exterior-grade lumber for better stability and long-term performance. These new posts were installed on galvanized steel raised base plates, keeping the wood elevated above ground moisture. For the surface, we used Fiberon® Good Life Decking from the Weekender Collection in Cabin Brown, a warm, natural tone that feels inviting and timeless. The fascia, stair risers, and stringers were wrapped in black PVC-coated aluminum, adding a sleek, finished look with strong protection.
Every detail—from the 20’ deck boards to the black accents—was designed for durability and visual balance. This project shows how a skilled deck installation contractor can turn an aging, unsafe structure into a stunning and long-lasting outdoor retreat.
