Modern Front, Classic Sides
Not every siding project starts with a full tear-off. In this case, the homeowner wanted to refresh the front of the house while keeping the existing asbestos siding on the sides and rear in place. Located in Marlboro, NJ, the project focused on giving the home a cleaner, more updated look without doing more than necessary. For this siding replacement, we removed the front-facing wood siding to expose the sheathing and started from there. The new look features vertical 7″ Board & Batten siding in Myrtle across the front, contrasted with 5″ horizontal Dutch Lap on the sides and rear—both using Norandex® Performance siding. Inside and outside corners were matched to the Myrtle color to keep the design unified. Before installing the siding, we wrapped the full home with synthetic underlayment and rigid foam insulation to boost protection behind the walls. We also modified the garage door framing, removing the original angled corners to create clean, straight lines for a sharper look. This project shows how small changes and good planning can make a big difference—especially when done by a contractor for siding who understands how to blend new and existing features.
